The Sun, Chapter 1 was exhibited at the Queens Museum of Art in New York City, a museum located on the former grounds of the 1939 World’s Fair. The painting depicts the front page of a newspaper from Monday, October 14, 1940. This date marks when, after having visited the fair, my grandfather and great-grandfather were in a fatal accident involving a Long Island Rail Road train.
