Empty Daybook – Dale Harding on 24 April 2016

This is a view [sic] of an ironbark forest on my mother’s country, Bidjara, at Mount Moffatt in Western Queensland, Australia. On this day, fifty members of my family gathered to pay our respects to our ancestors and to conduct “welcome to country” ceremonies for two babies. Through my mother’s father, Edward Lawton, my family has an unbroken cultural and spiritual connection to Bidjara country, its language, and its stories.
