Today for your Scrolling Pleasure: Good TVs and other Columns

The 2017 exhibition and book Algirdas Šeškus: TV commemorated the 60th anniversary of Lithuanian television. On April 30, 1957 the first program was broadcast from the new Vilnius television studio and Šeškus took many photographs at this studio between 1975 and 1985, where he worked as a television cameraman. Below I have arranged a few installation shots of the exhibition into a column or pillar that leads to Šeškus’ installation of photographs from the same year of his life at documenta 14 on the columns of an old postal sorting office in Kassel (Neue Neue Galerie (Neue Hauptpost), ending with the documenta 14 daybook, the TV book, and, finally, another TV, bearing an image of Tower #1 Caryatid #1: Made for Hoerikwaggo (2017) by fellow documenta 14 artist Tracey Rose.

I hope you enjoy this post today; made for your scrolling pleasure!
